Mental health day card

Hello there, Welcome to Mental Health hop
We are a group of card makers representing the art of card making via our beautiful cards on the theme of ‘Art for your mind’.

When we think of the word- Mental health, one might think of issues like Depression, Schizophrenia or Bipolar disorder. But even stress, anxiety are forms of mental health issues. If these are left unmanaged for long time, they may need medical attention.
Art helps us to relax and rewind from everyday stress. There is a sense of happiness in creating art, which is therapeutic. When we enjoy the process of creating art, we tend to forget the negative emotions and stress. As part of Mental Health Day Hop, we would like to reinforce this fact that art and craft are therapeutic. We encourage all of you to take some time every week, if not everyday, to pursue some hobby like drawing, coloring, doodling, card making or whatever is your pick.

My Card for the hop

What inspired me to make the card? I love colouring. The colours help me relax and this it self is a therapy for the mind.

Why I chose this image? I designed this stamp for Craftyscrappers a while back and its my favourite floral design.

My favourite colours? I love all colours and sometime blending them makes a cool look.

How I made this card? I stamped two of the same image and coloured the image using same colours. I die cut an oval from vellum and coloured it with grey alcohol marker and added some shimmer to it. Since its a 5 by 7 card, I trimmed down a little of the image and made it look one floral bunch. I coloured the bird using blue and yellow with a hint of orange to the edge of the wings.

About the sentiment: I love this sentiment from Altenew. Whenever I feel low or down, this sentiment helps me a lot. Staying positive in life is so important these days.
